Please read carefully as category requirements vary

  1. Entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form – either fill in online or print off and send by post. You can enter yourself or nominate someone else. 
  2. Work submitted must have appeared between 16 November 2007 and 14 November 2008.
  3. You can enter as many categories as you like provided your entry is made up of work not entered in another category. 
  4. Three sets (ideally one original) of each article are required if entering by post. Journalists entering online should send scans of originals – links are not accepted (except in Online category – see note 9 below).
  5. Newspaper Feature category – only one feature is required.
  6. All print entries (with the exception of the Feature of the Year Award) must consist of three different articles.
  7. All print entries must clearly display the date and title of publication. Any entries not clearly marked or legible will be disqualified.
  8. Whole magazines, newspapers or generic website links submitted will be disqualified.
  9. Online Journalist Award – entries should consist of links to specific articles, pdfs or printed copies of three separate stories.
  10. Entries for the TV Programme Award and Radio Programme Award must be made in the name of the producer or editor of the programme(s).
  11. Television entries, must be clearly labelled including transmission date and duration timings of each item, and not exceeding 60 minutes total playing time. Three DVD copies are required. Television series should enter the strongest programme from that series.
  12. Radio entries, which may consist of up to three items (recorded as separate tracks), must be on a single CD, clearly labelled including transmission dates and duration timings of each item, and not exceeding 60 minutes total playing time. Three copies are required.
  13. Entries for the ‘Journalist to watch’ category must be nominated by the journalist’s editor or equivalent with a supporting statement of no more than 450 words max.
  14. The judges reserve the right to transfer material entered in one category to another if they consider it appropriate.
  15. Shortlisted print, online and broadcast material may be reproduced at the awards ceremony.
  16. Unfortunately, entries cannot be returned.
  17. Details of entrants may be recorded on the Press Office database.
  18. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence may be entered into.
