Dr John Golightly

Visiting Fellow, Big Innovation Centre

John is a Managing Consultant within BAE Systems’ consultancy division, CORDA. Having been with the company for thirteen years he has held a variety of roles.  He is currently responsible for the Energy and Sustainability Analytics business area, where he leads a team helping organisations in the defence sector understand how to tackle their future energy challenges. As part of this role he is the UK representative on a NATO research panel, working collaboratively with partner nations to share best practice.  Prior to his current role he was Research Programme Manager for a £12m MOD maritime research programme, responsible for the formulation of research ideas through to trials and demonstrations, with a continuing focus on successful exploitation.

Prior to joining BAE Systems, John completed a BSc in Chemistry followed by a PhD in Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Polymer Systems, both at Nottingham University.

John has joined the Big Innovation Centre as a Visiting Fellow with a particular interest in Open Innovation systems.
